PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Medeia is small, although her thin, delicate frame and tendency to vanish in the underbrush make her appear even smaller. If she wasn't such a pain in the flank, she'd be downright attractive: long black mane and tail with a stunning red-bay coat. She lacks a horn, making her appeared femininity even more of a stark contrast to her prankish personality.

She's agile and graceful, capable of quick turns in areas larger fawnlings would have trouble in. Her colour may make others mistake her for a very large fox, causing even more of the confusion that she adores.


PERSONALITY:
"To the gentlemen, I'm Miss Fortune."

Underneath that disarmingly tiny exterior, Medeia is a conniving little mastermind. She'll lead the unwary fawnlings into the dark, only to vanish unexpectedly, dashing away with surprising speed; slip a braided mane onto a branch and initiate a chase; . Medeia is fully aware of her miniature frame and utilizes it to its fullest extent; after all, who would possibly assume such a small, darling thing could wreak this much havoc?! Trickster as she is, she's not impulsive. Her pranks and games usually take time (unless it's luring some silly stranger into the woods, that's easy). She likes to acquire her targets over time, calculating out what the best trick would be. In this regard, she's a little sadistic. These targets usually consist of strangers, as those in her herd know her too well to fall for anything.

More often than not, her pranks involve smearing the luminescent moss and algae on her body and tail, running into the forest and luring strangers to the Oakfern caves. She utilizes strange, jolted movements to entice her targets to her and stays just out of reach.

This girl has quite the ego. It's understandable when you constantly get the better of others. She's quite the cocky little brat and it often shows.

Medeia is a curious little thing that chooses to ignore social boundaries when they displease her. She can be caught staring impolitely or popping unwanted into conversations of interest. She's not the most social doe, likely only having one or two close friends (that are immune to any pranks). Despite this, she's loyal beyond belief, just don't ask her to fight any battles…

Due to her size, she's not the best when it comes to physical strength. Not that it stops her from annoying the hell out others. She knows she can outrun (or, as she thinks, outwit) anyone that pursues her.

She's not one for baubles, but sometimes enjoys the occasional shiny trinket. Overall, she finds them a hindrance to her: disappearing in the woods is impossible if your mane is covered in shiny-sparkly things.

If Medeia decided to be a productive member of a herd (instead of just causing chaos), she would be an astoundingly good strategist--she already applies the process to her "work". Her pranks require a high level of intelligence and rapid thought as well as an intimate knowledge of the surrounding area. Due to this, should she actually apply herself, she'd be a surprising asset.

Despite her flaws, and there are many, she's very loyal to her friends and herd. While not the most obedient doe, she is willing to assist and often enjoys cooperation.

Artist comments:
Oh my god, I love her. Just yes. I tried to keep the stereotypical fox-theme throughout her bio to match the appearance: cunning, trickster, luring, etc. I also researched some red fox behaviour and applied it to her socialization: foxes tend to have small packs consisting of only two or three members; the fox's ability to live nearly anywhere translated to her vast knowledge of the territory and environment. Her luring technique is based on fox-fire or will-o-whisps.

I began sketching her with music on. The song "When You're Evil" by Voltaire came on while iTunes was on random and I instantly knew it fit her. Thus, the landslide of events began.

I originally was going to make her horned, but when I started drawing, it just looked off. I couldn't figure out why, but when I removed the horn, it all clicked together. I also originally made her male, but it just didn't work out the way I wanted it. I suppose she kind of wrote herself because my initial plans were completely different.
